Real cars / real stories

An old MG in the last light.
A rally car disappearing into dust.

A few lives before this one

I used to photograph wars.
Now mostly cars.

I started travelling young and spent years working as a conflict photographer. That took me to Ukraine, Sudan and places where having a camera was rarely the hard part. The local fixers, colleagues and people who trusted me taught me more than any photography course ever could.

After Wad Madani, I stepped away from conflict work. I wasn't looking for another grand adventure. I needed to remember what it felt like to pick up a camera simply because I wanted to.

A drift meet did it. Fast cars, interesting characters, ridiculous builds, and the last ten minutes of good light. I fell for photography all over again.

Same eye. Different subject. I'm based in Calgary, still travelling, and always up for a good story.
